We just kicked off our first week of the Fall 08 semester. It has been a good week so far as we have held our scavenger hunt, our first Life Line Thursday night meeting, and we even had our President, Natalie Venable, make the Fox news on TV!  Check her out as she gives advice to underclassmen…     

This year’s theme verse is 1 Corinthians 9:24-25

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.  Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

September 18 7:30 pm Texas Union- Board of Director’s Room on 4th floor

Life Line- a time of fellowship, a short devotional, get to know other Longhorn Lifers, great desserts and coffee.  This week we will have a guest speaker from OMF.  She will talk to us about opportunities to be involved in missions in Asia.  She’s an expert on the subject and will be a blessing to us.  Come and invite friends who might have interest in this subject.

September 25 7:30pm- African American Culture Room, 4.110, Texas Union 4th Floor

Life Line- a time of fellowship, a short devotional, get to know other Longhorn Lifers, great desserts and coffee.  This week we will have worship, communion, and a surprise event practicing spiritual disciplines.  Come for a time of reflection and slowing down.
